- INITIAL CONSULTATION:
The first step to your couture order is the consultation where you will be meeting with a Client Relations specialist by appointment at any of our flagship stores in Delhi, Mumbai or Hyderabad and even Online. In this meeting we will discuss the purpose of your order in detail.
- MEASUREMENTS:
- Bust: Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your bust, under your arms. Ensure the tape is snug but not tight and parallel to the floor.
- Waist: Find your natural waistline, which is the narrowest point of your torso, typically a couple of inches above your belly button. Wrap the tape measure around this area, keeping it level and comfortable.
- Hips: Stand with your feet together and measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks. Make sure the tape remains level all the way around.
- Torso Length (Optional): For a perfect fit, especially if you have a particularly long or short torso, measure from the top of your shoulder down to your natural waist or underbust.
- Dress Length (Optional): Measure from your shoulder down to where you want the hem to fall, such as mid-thigh.
- DESIGN PROCESS: Bodycon dresses are often made from stretchy material (look for at least 5% spandex or elastane in the fabric composition). If the fabric has less stretch, your measurements will need to be very precise.

HAND-MADE LEHENGA CHOLI:
- CRAFTING:
- Creating a handmade lehenga choli is a meticulous artistic journey that blends heritage techniques with precise tailoring. Depending on the intricacy, the process can take anywhere from 20 days to several months to complete.
- MEASUREMENT & CONCEPTUALIZATION:
- Measurements: Key metrics include the skirt length (waist to floor), hip circumference, bust, underbust, and armhole size to ensure a perfect “made-to-measure” fit.
- Fabric Selection: Choice of material defines the drape. Options include Silk (luxurious), Velvet (ideal for winter), and Georgette or Net (lightweight and flowy).
- DRAFTING & CUTTING:
- Paneling (Kalis): Most handmade lehengas are “kali-style,” where multiple longitudinal panels are cut and stitched together to create a voluminous, regal flare.
- The Choli: The blouse is cut separately, often featuring modern necklines like sweetheart or scalloped edges.
- HAND EMBROIDERY {THE KARIGARI}:
- Techniques: Artisans use Zardosi (metallic thread), Gota Patti (gold/silver ribbons), Resham (silk thread), and Aari work.
- Embellishments: Mirrors (Shisha), sequins, pearls, and beads are sewn manually to add texture and light-reflecting properties.
- LEHENGA-CHOLI-DUPATTA:
- Lehenga: The heavy, flared skirt.
- Choli: The fitted, often heavily embroidered blouse.
- Dupatta: A long scarf usually featuring matching borders or scattered “buttis” {motifs}.
SAREE AESTHETICS:
- SAREE AESTHETICS:
Saree aesthetics are defined by their rich and varied details, incorporating traditional craftsmanship and modern design. Key types of detailing include:
- WORK DETAILING {KARIGARI}:
- Mirror Work: Small pieces of mirror or reflective material used to create intricate patterns, often along the borders, adding a radiant finish.
- Embroidery: Intricate needlework, including floral patterns, gold threadwork (zari), and bead or sequin embellishments, which can range from subtle motifs to dense all-over designs.
- Stone Work and Rhinestones: The use of delicate stones or rhinestones for a subtle sparkle or a dramatic, sparkling effect on the fabric.
- Border Detailing: The edges often feature significant design work, such as Doli Baraat patterns, chevron cut-outs, lace finishing, or the traditional Gota Patti handwork, which can transform the entire look of the saree.
- Handloom and Fabric Weaves: The fabric itself contributes to the aesthetic, with rich materials like Chanderi silk, organza, georgette, and satin chiffon offering different drapes and sheens, sometimes with interwoven Zari Buti designs.
